Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the bio-imaging, bio-sensing and bio-banking (“B-CUBE”) and related industries working in the medical diagnostics value chain operate in an environment that is characterized by rapidly growing requirements and amounts of heterogeneous data. Digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cognitive Computing Digital Technologies (CCDT) have the potential to address the data-related challenges in the value chain and produce innovative solutions for patient-oriented diagnostic workflows.

The DIGI-B-CUBE project aims at promoting digital innovations that will lead to reconfigured medical diagnostics and personalized medicine value chains. DIGI-B-CUBE intends to unlock the cross-sectoral collaborative potential of SMEs by combining expertise from the B-CUBE and the IT sector. This will be achieved by an open collaboration space consisting of workshops to identify needs and solutions in the medical diagnostics value chain, the DIGI-B-CUBE collaborative online platform with automated matchmaking capability and physical matchmaking events to partner SMEs accordingly. Joint innovation projects of participating SMEs are funded with a total of €2.7 mio, leading to new concepts, prototypes and products.
