We are looking as soon as possible for support in our Clinical Cancer Genomics unit. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of immunotherapeutic treatments against cancer and other diseases by studying immune and cancer cells to understand disease, resistance and immunomodulatory mechanisms
Your tasks and responsibilities:
– Conduct single cell RNA- and single cell TCR-sequencing experiments by using 10x Genomics platform and analyze heterogeneous cell populations
– Profile chromatin–accessibility via targeted bisulfite sequencing and perform single cell ATAC sequencing (10x Genomics) for epigenetic studies
– Develop and evaluate new technologies and protocols for single cell analyses including cell culture, tissue dissociation, NGS library preparation and bioinformatics data analysis
– Plan, implement, document and present research projects and experiments
– Cooperate in multi–disciplinary teams with other TRON units like Cell culture, NGS and Bioinformatics and external collaborators to plan, design and run experiments
– Instruct lab technicians and students
– Apply findings in both R&D and clinical projects for biomarkers and immunotherapies with a direct impact on patient health care
What you bring:
– PhD degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biotechnology or related discipline
– Profound knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology
– Expertise in tumour biology, cardiovascular or autoimmune diseases would be a plus
– Experience in molecular methods such as NGS and quantitative PCR is required
– Practice in single cell sequencing, epigenetics and mammalian cell culture is beneficial
– Knowledge of standardized processes and documentation (SOPs) as well as the creation and maintenance of Quality management/assurance documentation is expected
– Any experience with widely used programming languages (R, Python etc.) would be of advantage
– Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills as well as strong sense of responsibility and high reliability are essential.
